8. How do I get to Oxford International College from the train or bus station?
It is possible to walk from either the train or bus station to the college ; however, please note that it is 1.5 miles and will take about 30 minutes. Click here for a map showing the best walking route from the train station to the college.

Taxis are available directly outside the station (cost between £7 and £9), a better option if you are considering a taxi would be to pre-book with our preferred supplier Royal Cars – where possible they will arrange for the taxi to be shared with other students attending our courses. If you wish to book a taxi with them, please follow the link below.

Please note they will only arrange taxi sharing if you add OXSS to the comments box and of course if there are other students to share with – also it is vital that you give them the mobile number for the passenger. You will of course still have to pay, but if sharing is possible it will be cheaper.

6. What to bring?
Please see our Frequently Asked Questions.  Although bedding is provided, towels are not.

7. How do I get to St Edward's School from the train or bus station?
St Edward's School is just over 2 miles away from both the Oxford city centre and Oxford Parkway train stations.  A taxi ride will take approximately 10 minutes and should cost around £8.  Taxis are generally available outside the station, although it is advisable to book in advance.

Gloucester Green is the central bus station in Oxford.  This is just under 2 miles away and will take approximately 40 minutes to walk.  You can take a number of buses, such as the Stagecoach S2 or 300 Park and Ride, and the journey time is around 15 minutes.  Alternatively, a taxi will take approximately 10 minutes and should cost around £8.

8. Why do we charge extra for English, Geography and History at IB, AS and A Level?
These subjects have a large number of options (over 100 for A Level History), so they are almost always taught on a one-to-one basis. If it turns out that students are taught in a group then the £30 one-to-one fee will be refunded. The £30 fee does not guarantee one-to-one tuition and we cannot offer guaranteed one-to-one for any subject during the Easter course. Other subjects do end up being taught one-to-one but we do not charge extra for this as it is comparatively infrequent.
