Revision Courses: Subjects Offered

Students revising for their exams

Subjects and Levels

We offer revision courses and online tuition for students studying towards their GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A Level qualifications.

We can offer a very wide range of subjects and can cater for levels from first year of GCSE/IGCSE through to university preparation and university assistance, covering AS Level, A Level, International A Level, IB, GCSE, and IGCSE. Occasionally we also cover BTEC, EB, Scottish Highers, etc.

Subject-wise we can offer all the usual suspects and a surprising range of more obscure ones. Along with the traditional, Maths, Sciences, English, etc, we offer subjects such as Media, Classical Greek, Ancient History, Spanish, Global Perspectives (IGCSE) and so on.

In terms of exam boards, we cover most of these, be that AQA, CIE, Edexcel, Eduqas, OCR or WJEC, and can help with the International A Level.

Please note that although we offer tuition for the IB, we are not an IB School, nor are we affiliated with the IB programme.

For our courses we are careful to group tutorials with the following points considered as appropriate.

  • Which year the student is in, i.e. 1st or 2nd year of (I)GCSE, IB or A levels
  • Which level exam: GCSE’s are higher or foundation, IB’s are higher or standard level, etc.
  • For A or AS level (other than intro courses) which papers are required.
  • Some exams have optional topics or content, and these are also important to our planning. In particular subjects such as A Level History have hundreds of options (over 600 at the last count), which cannot be grouped together.  Courses are specific in nature, with students selecting their chosen paper/topics, or in this example History period, on application.  A suitable tutor is then allocated for them, to assist with the specific period.

A key principle for all our exam based courses is that they are student-led. The students decide which topics from their syllabus are to be covered. For further details see our Student-led Revision Courses page.

Subject Tiers

Please note that subjects are grouped into specific tiers with different fees applied per day or per week.  There are additional fees incurred for those subjects more specific in nature, where there may be certain options, texts or periods that students must select, or where the demand for such classes is relatively low.

At OXSS we pride ourselves on committing to all bookings, regardless of class size.  Were a student to apply for small group tuition, and no other student enroll, we will not cancel the class but will continue to provide this and the student will benefit from one-to-one tuition.

If a subject is not available for selection on the application form, please note that we may still be able to offer it, and that it will feature in the higher price tier.  In such case, please do enquire or note this in one of the boxes given on the application form.
