We offer online tuition support year-round, as a way for students to benefit from supplementary subject tuition on a flexible basis, throughout the year. This bespoke offering allows students to get the help they need, when they need it most. Students can meet with our expert tutors to review subject content, and effectively address and overcome challenging topics, as they arise. This approach allows them to be best prepared for mock and final exams.
The Year-Round Online Tuition offering is tailored around each individual student and application, with students able to set the number of sessions, dates and times. This can range from short-term bookings to larger bookings, covering the whole academic year. All sessions are online, allowing students to join from the comfort of their own home or educational setting.
Many of our Half Term and Holiday students go on to request supplementary tuition during term time, with a preferred tutor that they have worked with during their revision course, and vice versa. It is a great way to maintain a working relationship with the tutor between courses, and allows for continual improvement.
Simply put, our online subject tuition pairs students with expert tutors, in an environment that enables students to thrive.
Online tuition is provided via Microsoft Teams. Students will need a desktop or laptop, an internet connection, webcam, microphone and speakers (most of these do come built in). In our experience, we find that the tuition works best if both tutor and student can see each other. Students are able to ask questions as if they would in a classroom. Microsoft Teams provides an interactive platform, allowing for audio and visual contact, screen sharing, link sharing and whiteboard features.
The tutorials are student led and we encourage students to come prepared with a list of topics/areas they would like to focus on. The start of the first tutorial will act as an introduction, whereby the tutor will ask the student what they would like to focus on. The tutorials will provide students the chance to gain expert guidance, to consolidate knowledge, work through troubling areas, build confidence and develop their exam potential.
Your typical tutor is someone who is enthusiastic about their subject and field, keen to share their knowledge and experience, and passionate about helping others have a positive experience with their subject and studies.
They are degree educated, and may hold further qualifications at master’s or PhD level.
They are experienced in working with students at this level, and in executing such style of tuition.
And they have been through a recruitment process, that enabled us to get to know them, to understand their teaching style, to verify their knowledge, and to ensure that we are providing the highest level of tuition possible.
A few words used to describe our tutors are ‘enthusiastic, gentle and encouraging’ as well as ‘passionate, friendly and innovative’.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All tutors, both for face-to-face and online tuition, go through a rigorous recruitment process and successful applicants are subject to an enhanced DBS check, as well as any other relevant local checks, must provide references, and undertake Safeguarding and Prevent training courses, elements of which are updated on an ongoing basis.
Tutorials are monitored for safeguarding and quality-assurance purposes.
We understand that students’ schedules are already relatively busy, that’s why our flexible booking approach allows students to create a bespoke timetable, that fits in with their existing schedule. You say what, how much, and when, and we’ll find the right tutor for you, tailoring the timetable to suit your exact needs. One-on-one tutorials are available Monday through Sunday, morning, afternoon, and evening.
The length and frequency of classes is also up you. We accommodate bookings both for the longer academic term, and short-term. Some students may choose 1 hour a week per subject for a continuous period, increasing to say 2 hours per week as the exams get closer, others may choose considerably more hours per week for just a couple of weeks ahead of an internal, mock, or final exam.
Students can choose between 1 hour, 1 ½ hour or 2-hour classes as part of our standard offering, though if an alternate duration is of interest, please let us know.
We can accommodate most classroom subjects across GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A Level, as well as support for the 11+ and school entrance exams, and undergraduate study. Of course we cover the core subjects of Maths, English Literature & Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, but we also cover the likes of History, Geography, Politics, Computer Science, French, the list goes on.
Yes of course! Given the online course delivery students may join from overseas. With this being such a flexible offering, we can work with you to schedule tuition appropriately, considering any time differences.
That’s OK! Our friendly admissions team would be happy to speak with you ahead of your application. We have a flexible approach, allowing students to extend their booking as they go. And our block booking discounts offer incentives for bookings of all sizes!
