Revision Courses with Oxford Science Studies

Here at Oxford Science Studies we believe that it is important to keep on top of learning, taking advantage of the school holidays to consolidate knowledge, tackle any troubling areas head on and keep studies active.  That is why we offer courses throughout the year, during the half term and holiday periods.

We also appreciate that supplementary tuition, with a dedicated tutor, throughout the year, can be of benefit, which is why we offer year-round tuition offerings, available online.

We have dedicated teams on hand to assist with your half term and holiday or online tuition requests.  And this is what we do, our primary focus is to provide relevant and beneficial course experiences.

We offer most subjects at GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A Level and our friendly learning environment puts students at ease, to ask questions and gain confidence in the subject material.  Our small class sizes, and one to one tuition offerings, allow students to get the tailored help that they require.

Why attend a revision course with OXSS?

You may be wondering why students attend revision courses, and specifically so with OXSS.  To answer that, revision courses provide students with the opportunity for structured study during the holidays, providing them with the time to consolidate learning, overcome challenging topics, and prepare for what is ahead.  This can be a useful experience for all students, though perhaps in different ways.  It can be useful for those students that are looking to catch-up, having missed some time at school, or looking to get back on track.  Also, for those looking to push for those top grades, working towards set university ambitions.  As well as for those looking for some extra help, to combat specific topic issues and help them get towards their target grades.

Not only that, but revision courses provide students with the chance to work with subject specialists, alongside like-minded students, in a small group environment.  Classes are focused, with all students on board with the same intention, exam success.  Students can feel at ease to ask questions in this friendly learning environment, and can tailor the classes to their needs, speaking out when they need further clarification, and leaving with a renewed confidence.

The structure of a revision course timetable with OXSS combines both tutorials, for review of content, and independent exam practice, allowing students to apply such learning to exam style questions.  This allows for a process of continual learning, throughout the course.  With students able to consolidate knowledge, tackle challenging topics, and focus on application to exam questions, for success.  It is key not only to have the knowledge, but to understand how to apply this.

A revision course with OXSS is specific in nature, and the student-led element ensures that the content covered is relevant to the student.  OXSS tailor the timetable to the student, not the other way around.  Expert support is there for students when they need it most.  And you can rest assured that our tutors are up for the job.  With rigorous recruitment processes, continual observation and feedback, we ensure that the tuition provided is of the high quality we expect.

Course Subjects

We offer most subjects and include below those that are popular.  This is not an exhaustive list.  If you are interested in a subject that is not listed, please enquire.

We do not offer those subjects of a practical application, such as Art, Design & Technology, Food Technology or Physical Education.

For certain subjects, we will ask for additional information and classes will be more specific in nature.  Examples of this include:

  • English Literature – we will ask for a specific text or poetry anthology
  • A Level Geography – we may ask for certain options, depending on the paper
  • History – we will ask for the specific period
  • A Level Maths – we offer a range of classes for Pure, Mechanics and Statistics, students should select a class that relates to the topics they wish to cover
  • A Level Further Maths – like Maths we offer a range of classes, the class lists are available here
  • GCSE Sciences – we will ask if this is the dual/double or single/triple award

We cover all exam boards, be that AQA, CIE, Edexcel, Eduqas, OCR or WJEC, and can help with the International A Level.

Please note that although we offer tuition for the IB, we are not an IB School, nor are we affiliated with the IB programme.
