Online Summer Course Booking Form

1. Course outline

These courses are intended to help students catch up, revise and prepare. There has been a great deal of disruption due to Covid-19 - the aim of these course is to put the student in the best possible position for the forthcoming academic year.

All our online courses are run using Microsoft Teams and for the duration of the course the students will have access to Teams and a secure @oxss.co.uk email. The student will need access to a desktop or laptop (tablets or smart phones are not really sufficient), an internet connection, webcam, microphone and speakers. The webcam etc. can be built in or external. The student will also need access to a mobile phone and an email address (other than the @oxss one) for account authentication and setting up the @oxss email. We have to set up @oxss email otherwise the student will not be able to join lessons via Teams.

We are currently running the following:

  • 1, 2 or 3 weeks online tuition
  • Focussed on preparing to go Back to School the courses will seeks to address any missed topics and put the student in the best position to return to school
  • Tuition will be small groups (up to 6) or 1-to-1 if there is only 1 student requiring that specific subject

Type of course
Online only
Online with the option to switch to face-to-face course in Oxford if possible.

We are working on the assumption that our back to school course will be run online. It seems likely that school will not fully open until September 2020. However, should restrictions be lifted early enough and if there is sufficient demand then we may run face to face course in Oxford.

The prices below are significantly cheaper than our standard prices - we are doing what we can to help out during this crisis. These are also introductory prices and may be increased in the future.

For intro to degree level exact course details are essential – ideally a link to course content.

For courses of 1 week duration please provide 3 subjects. Note these can be repeated, for example, 2 maths and 1 physics.

For 2 week courses please provide 3 further subjects

For 3 week courses please provide a further 3 subjects

Please note that the above will not be scheduled in the order you have given them.

In our experience we find the tuition works best if the tutor and student(s) can see each other. The tutor can “read” the student and see if they are confused, concentrating, happy, etc. Although it is possible to provide tuition without the student being seen, it is preferable for all parties to be visible. If the student(s) are hidden we believe that an important element of the tuition is lost.
